The Crocnicle

  • January 10Welcome to our new staff writers!

  • December 31Happy New Year, Crocs!

Sophomore Thalia Alvarez was born in Cuba and moved to the United States when she was five years old. She has been a proud member of the PPMH family since 2011 when she first started 6th grade. Since then, she has participated in many clubs, from Girl Talk to SGA. Now, she enjoys working on the yearbook and writing for the school newspaper, in part because they are both a continuation of her creative interest in the arts. Thalia also enjoys her academic classes, but definitely favors math as that is the one she plans to pursue as a career. That drive for excellence in arts and academics has led her to achieve Principal’s Honor Roll for most of her academic life and even to make it to the top 10% rank in her grade last year. Outside of school, Thalia has many hobbies, but she favors drawing, writing, and spending time with family and friends. She hopes to continue her life with great success and become more involved in clubs and activities in school, keeping these favorite quotes in mind: "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work" -Thomas Edison "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." -Albert Einstein "Be the change you want to see in the world." -Mahatma Gandhi
